Chicken Parmesan Subs

Wednesday, June 9, 2021
Chicken Parmesan or also referred to as "chicken parm", is a classic Italian-American meal often served as a main course, usually with a side of pasta and many restaurants also offer chicken parm sub sandwiches which are our featured recipe today.

Our chicken parm sub sandwich is filled with our favorite recipe for breaded chicken parmigiana, smothered in tomato sauce topped with melted provolone and mozzarella cheeses.

This quick and easy recipe can be made from scratch or less than 30 minutes using store-bought ingredients.

The ingredients are all simplified and we have several suggestions that you may like below and substitutions that still will satisfy any "parmigiana" style lover of this recipe.

The best part about this recipe besides being super easy, they can be made using sliders, submarine rolls, french rolls, ciabatta bread, or a crusty delicious on Italian bread so use whatever you have available.

Our favorite bread is Italian garlic rolls loaded with garlic, herbs, and Pecorino Romano cheese on it and that's done before adding the chicken and other ingredients but well worth the extra step.

Just scroll down for all our suggestions and recipe ideas.

Italian-American Foods

This style of chicken was developed by Italian immigrants somewhere in the 1950s here in America and their idea was substituting chicken with a well-known Eggplant Parmesan dish popular in Campania; Sicily, in Italy.

Once created it became popular in most Italian-American restaurants and remains one of the most asked Italian sandwiches out there.

The creative ideas are really endless with just a few basic tricks to fill these up for either opened-faced or full whole filled sandwiches.

Have a variety of cheeses on hand, and get a list ready for the ingredients you may need ahead of time.

Your recipes can be adapted to using all store-bought ingredients for a quick weeknight meal or make everything homemade from scratch starting with my original Chicken Parmesan recipe.

Easy Fast Food Meals

There are so many possibilities with how to make this easy meal from all made from the homemade sauce, chicken cutlets to all store-bought dinners.

I really love the fact you can buy a whole loaf of french bread and make a huge open-face chicken parmesan sandwich all at once and just slice it, one and done right?

I usually air fry the chicken tenders, add to the garlic toasted French bread, add the sauce and cheese, and voila instant dinner in less than 15 minutes.

I would love to hear what your creations are so leave us a comment and let us know what you've done for a quick meal using store-bought ingredients.
