Apple Streusel Crumb Cake Recipe

If you love old-fashioned recipes then you're going to totally enjoy this Apple Streusel Crumb Cake Recipe from the 1940s time period and it's so easy to make!.

The cake is a scratch heavy texture made with simple pantry ingredients.

Grandma and mom whipped this style crumb cake in no time it's so so darn simple.

Often they served it to guests because it was perfect with a good cup of tea or coffee but I loved this cake, the crumb topping is my favorite.

As time went on I doubled the crumb topping (it was so good) and added fruits occasionally to change it up a little!

We love this recipe at breakfast time also along with some others you can try like our Baked Pancake Casserole or our Simple Baked Bacon and Egg Cupcake Quiche the kids absolutely love both and if you're not in a hurry try our Simple Homemade Pork Breakfast Sausages!

A Great Fall Treat

Did I mention you can do this layered in muffin pans?.

If your family has scaled down a bit, that is the perfect solution to use a muffin tin.

When I make these for just the two of us I freeze most of them because they freeze great!

Just place them on a cookie sheet after they cool, freeze and toss them in a freezer container for another time when your craving a delicious breakfast or anytime treat!

Terrific to serve unexpected guests with tea or coffee or need to bring to any event or outing.

They are perfect for road trips, kids on the go for school, and just a great little snack!

  26. I just put this in the oven and I hope it turns out OK. The directions for this recipe are screwy and nowhere does it tell you when and how to use the milk. If it tastes good, I will have to copy and paste this to a blank sheet and make some sense of it for next time.

    1. oh dear! sorry when I copied that I must have missed adding the milk to the vanilla and milk step. Either way even if you added it to the cream mixture it will be fine. The topping goes on after you bake a few minutes so it doesnt all sink ot the bottom. I am very sorry and thank you for your message I hope you love it, its over 50 year old recipe my mom use to make in the 1960s. Good Luck again my apologies for that screw up
