Grilled Tequila Lime Shrimp Recipe

A dish we have enjoyed every year when grilling  season starts....
your guests will beg you for this recipe! So easy too!

Tequila Lime Shrimp

2 tablespoons Tequila (we got ours in Cabo St. Lucas)
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
pinch cayenne pepper
salt pepper to taste
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound extra large shrimp peeled deveined with tails on for presentation
wooden skewers soaked in a few tablespoons more of Tequila and the rest water for 1/2 hour
one large zip lock bag
Extra fresh limes for serving and garnish

Whisk all ingredients together. Pour this in a large Ziploc bag with shrimp for 1-2 hours (remembering citrus will cook the shrimp if it's marinaded too long) .  Drain. Thread each shrimp on soaked wooden skewers. Spray grill grates lightly with cooking oil. Heat grill. Place shrimp on the grill. Cook shrimp until it turns pink. Takes around 5 minutes total. Serve with slices or wedges of lime.

Your shrimp are gorgeous. Having them grilled is my favorite way of eating them (unless they're swimming in butter and garlic). Happy grilling season!

If it was not so windy I would make this today. Great idea combining the cajun seasoning with the tart lime on those shrimp. Shrimp on the barbie is always a treat. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Claudia XOXO.

We BBQ all year round down under. We've been known to throw a shrimp on the barbie from time to time.

(not really, we call them prawns :) )

These shrimp look really good!

Delicious! I think you should serve them in a margarita glass with some sauce in the middle to keep with the tequila theme.

Grilling season or not I will find a way to make these. I can smell them here. Oh look at the juice just beneath the shrimps. Yummy! =)

I'm going to try this combo. I would love the grilled shrimp on a Caesar salad and I'm sure the flavors would really pop.

Just a short note to tell you I made your Lamb Pie. It was just delicious. I didn't have mushrooms so substituted a small onion in their place. I found a shortcrust recipe off the London Telegragh and used that for the crust. I made a double recipe as I had this big glass pie plate and wanted to eat on it for a few days. We are finishing it up tonight. Thanks again.

Woah! You just combined my two most favorite ingredients. I love adding booze in my food. :)

I love grilling shrimp with lime and cayenne pepper. The addition of tequila is something I need to try! Drunken shrimp!
