You won't get a buzz on eating this delicious "Tequila Lime Shrimp, but you may while stealing a sip here and there from that one particular ingredients in our marinade.


This summer grilled Mexican-style Tequila Lime Shrimp is simple to make and seasoned to perfection.


In just a few minutes this easy shrimp dish can be an appetizer, main meal to top a salad, served on a bed of rice, mashed potatoes, or even on top of your favorite cooked pasta.


These skewers are always a hit at every barbecue, especially to tequila and seafood loving fans.


Of course, if you're not a fan of seafood, you can substitutes chicken breast cut into cubes and use this delicious marinade for a chicken lime tequila skewer instead.


We just love lighter meals in the summer and this is always on the top of the list for that citrusy spicy taste that shouts warmer weather foods.


We also like to serve this with Red Beans and Rice it's the perfect match in flavors!

Summer Meals



Tequila lime shrimp is one of the most popular Mexican recipes especially for using as a filling for tacos, topping salads, and even nachos.


This tequila lime shrimp is so tasty it's great using in a tortilla wrap and perfect for just an appetizer before that big barbecue meal.


You'll never have to worry about leftovers because they can be turned into another meal easily!


As I said before the marinade is so versatile below you can use any one of these suggestions.

Other Substitutions

  • smoked salmon
  • Mahi-mahi
  • haddock
  • crab meat or lobster
  • chicken breast boneless cubed
  • boneless pork tenderloin
  • cubed boneless steak
  • a medley of surf and turf

  1. twice-baked potatoes

  3. fish taco
  4. shrimp pasta fettuccini or broccoli aioli
  5. garlic mashed potatoes

Cooking Methods

  1. Grilling: Heat the grill to medium heat cooking the skewers for 5 to 7 minutes
  2. Air Fry: Add Shrimp to an ovenproof metal pie plate with all the ingredients, Air fry at 400 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes After they cool a little thread them on skewers
  3. Oven: Add all the ingredients with shrimp into an oven-proof baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees 8 to 11 minutes(or until shrimp turns pink) stirring once.
  4. Pan Fry: Heat the pan to medium heat in a cast-iron skillet. Add the shrimp with marinade in the pan and saute until the shrimp turns pin around 5 to 7 minutes. Serve on rice, in tacos or you can skewer this and serve as an appetizer.

Tips



This is easy to make and perfect for seafood lovers and if you're not fond of alcohol just leave it out or use more lime or lemon juice.


If you want to kick up the flavors with a little heat, add more cayenne pepper to taste.


You do not have to use skewers this can be pan-fried, baked, or air fried.

Tequila Lime Shrimp is an easy Mexican recipe grilled to perfection with a delicious blend of spices, herbs, tequila, and freshly-squeezed lime.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons tequila
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley or cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin or Cajun seasoning
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • salt pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 pound extra large shrimp peeled deveined with tails on for presentation
  • Optional: cayenne pepper to taste or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in warm water.
  2. Whisk together the lime juice, tequila,  butter, olive oil, garlic salt, cajun seasoning, and black pepper in a bowl. 
  3. Pour into a large resealable plastic bag; add the shrimp, and coat evenly. 
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the outdoor grill for medium-high heat. 
  6. Thread shrimp onto skewers. 
  7. Cook, uncovered, on preheated grill until shrimp turn pink, turning once, for 5 to 7 minutes.
  8. Other Cooking Methods:

  12. Just a short note to tell you I made your Lamb Pie. It was just delicious. I didn't have mushrooms so substituted a small onion in their place. I found a shortcrust recipe off the London Telegragh and used that for the crust. I made a double recipe as I had this big glass pie plate and wanted to eat on it for a few days. We are finishing it up tonight. Thanks again.
