Simple crostini is the start of a delicious toasted bread appetizer and can be made with a variety of toppings.

With a little creativity depending on what kind of sandwich fillings or salad fixings you prefer, these can be transformed into any kind of orderve.

They make a wonderful starter before a big meal but can also be a light lunch and perfect for when hosting a game day for delicious finger foods.

Quick easy and delicious appetizers you can make in 10 to 12 minutes.

Ingredients You Will Need

  • strawberries
  • balsamic vinegar or glaze
  • salt, pepper,
  • stick bread of choice cut
  • ricotta whole milk cheese
  • fresh basil
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • optional fresh garlic cloves

Other Topping Suggestions

  1. buffalo chicken with blue cheese dressing
  2. artichoke and spinach dip on top
  3. ham salad
  4. egg salad
  5. goat cheese and fruit fruits
  6. cantaloupe with proscuitto
  7. dates chopped with goat cheese and chopped pistachios
  8. diced pineapple, ham, and cream cheese
  9. other cheese suggestions: cream cheese, mascarpone, goat cheese
  10. leftover cooked meats and melted cheese of any kind
  11. warmed jam, melted brie cheese, and blueberries

Simple Crostini

Crostini is simply bread baguette sliced and toasted brushed with olive oil and the start of amazing appetizers with any topping your creative mind comes up with.

Ingredients

  • 2- baguette bread cut into 24 pieces (1/2 inch thick)
  • olive oil to brush on each piece of bread
  • roasted granulated garlic powder (sprinkle evenly on each piece)
  • Parmesan grated cheese (enough for each piece just a sprinkle!)
  • Optional: dried herbs medley parsley, basil, oregano,salt, and pepper just a pinch on each piece of bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Slice the baguettes into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Brush each slice with olive oil on both sides and place it onto a baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and roasted granulated garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese (and herbs if using).
  5. Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven at 400 degrees.
  6. These are ready to top with anything you like here are some suggestions:
  7. Chopped tomatoes, avocado, diced cucumber, chopped cooked meats of any kind, melted cheese with capicola, prosciutto, bacon, or pepperoni. For a sweet treat add some cream cheese and chopped fruits or ricotta and strawberries with jam

  6. Gosh, I am not sure which one I like the most. If I had to pick It would be the one with bacon. Bacon makes everything better. Who ever thought a piece of toast could taste so good!
