Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

An Old Time Favorite, quick and easy when your just wishing for chocolate
2 cups sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 cup of chocolate chips
Combine sugar, oil, and melted chocolate in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until blended.

Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well in a regular bowl or industrial size mixer.  Combine flour, baking powder and salt . Add a little of the dry mixture at a time to chocolate mixture, mixing after each addition, fold in chips.  Cover and let chill at least 2 hours.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls, and roll in powdered sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees . Cool on wire racks. I bake mine for 8 to 10 minutes and like them gooey... 10 to 12 for more cake like.

Once again Claudia...you and I are on the same wavelength. I love crinkle chocolate cookies. I've lately fooled around with a similar recipe and put my twist on them. Hopefully, I'll be able to share my cookies with you too ;o)
Thanks for the sweets.

Have a fabulous day,
Claudia

first glance these looked like old fashion ginger cakes, but when I saw the name and read the recipe I know why they remind me of my grandmothers cookies, they have so much good stuff in them...

Dear Claudia,

I would love to have the coffee ready for you...that would be so nice!
The chocolate cookies you baked here are delightful and perfect for when one desires some chocolate..The trouble is I desire it too often! This is why I am trying to get out and walk with my little doggie everyday! Thank goodness for my little dog or I would find excuses not to. Blessings, Catherine xoxo

Chocolate Crinkles have been my favorite cookie for a really long time...my mom always makes them at Christmas time and I gobble them up real quick. Yours look great!

Sigh. Easy, huh? Both recipes I've tried for these have failed, one quite horribly, it wasn't even edible. I skewered that cookbook in a review. Everything in it turned out terrible.

Now you've done it. I'm wishing for chocolate. And I'm wishing for these.

Oh yum! Chocolate is always right and I just love the contrast of the sugar against the darkness of the cookie :)
