Shrimp Stuffed Mushroom Marsala, a great appetizer to start off any meal!


I just find it easy to make these in the muffin tins, hold everything together and mold together.


The stuffing is made with cream cheese, shrimp, and garlic filling super simple and the perfect appetizer for any seafood lover.


Not a seafood lover? just leave the shrimp out, and substitute it with cooked diced chicken breast, pepperoni, or ham.

Ingredients You Will Need (scroll down for exact measurements)

  • mushrooms
  • breadcrumbs
  • salt, pepper
  • olive oil
  • grated cheese
  • garlic
  • white wine
  • Optional:
  • shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

Tips

  • cream cheese must be at room temperature
  • store these in airtight containers
  • cool completely before cutting them
  • use a spoon or melon ball scoop to clean mushrooms
  • adjust the baking time for different pan usage
  • 13 x 9 baking pan, brownie pans must be at least 3 inches high so it doesn't overflow
  • spray parchment paper with cooking oil to avoid sticking
  • to keep them warm, like a slow cooker with parchment paper add the mushroom to the top place the cooker on warm

Optional Filling Combinations for Stuffed Mushrooms:

  1. Note: (for all recipes for amounts that use cream cheese use whipped around 3 tablespoons, 1 cup types of meat cooked, diced seafood or vegetables, a few tablespoons of tomato sauce for pizza style, 1 teaspoon minced garlic or other herbs mentioned below, and for cheeses, 1 cup shredded. all appetizers can be sprinkled with breadcrumbs and drizzled with olive oil or butter)
  2. Philly Steak Stuffed Mushrooms: finely chopped  cooked ribeye steak, sauteed onions chopped, provolone cheese
  3. Pepperoni Pizza Stuffed Mushrooms: finely chopped pepperoni, tomato sauce, and shredded mozzarella or provolone
  4. Chicken Parm Stuffed Mushrooms: cooked finely chopped diced breaded chicken, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese 
  5. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms: crab meat, white wine, minced garlic, provolone
  6. Shrimp and Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms: baby shrimp or scallops chopped, white wine, chopped fresh spinach, minced garlic, and cream cheese
  7. Hawaiian Style Stuffed Mushrooms: chopped ham, pineapple, mixed with cream cheese and shredded cheddar
  8. Pepper Poppers Stuffed Mushrooms: jalapeno, cream cheese, white sharp shredded cheddar
  9. Italian Sausage Stuffed Stuffed Mushrooms: cooked loose Italian sausage, finely chopped roasted peppers, chopped olives, mozzarella, minced garlic top with tomato sauce and panko breadcrumbs
  10. Lobster Lovers Stuffed Mushrooms: lobster chopped, jack cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, white wine, cream cheese, panko bread crumbs
  11. Chicken Marsala Stuffed Mushrooms: diced cooked chicken, marsala wine, provolone shredded, granulated garlic powder, breadcrumbs
  12. Reuben Stuffed Mushrooms: chopped deli corned beef, thousand island dressing, swiss cheese, finely minced sauerkraut 
  13. Vegetarian Stuffed Mushrooms: riced cauliflower, or finely minced broccoli, minced garlic, finely chopped spinach, sundried tomatoes, shredded mozzarella, romano cheese
  14. Southern Style Stuffed Mushrooms: ground breakfast style cooked sausage of any kind, shredded Monterey cheese or cheddar, shredded hashbrowns, breadcrumbs

Cooking Methods

  1. Baking: preheat the oven to 400 degrees place on a parchment-lined baking pan,  add melted butter, or olive oil  with shredded cheese of choice on top for around 20 minutes
  2. Stovetop: Add 3 tablespoons of melted butter and 1/2 cup chicken broth or marsala wine. Place stuffed mushrooms on the stuffed side up, cover, and steam for 20 minutes. Add the cheese on top around 3 minutes before the mushrooms are cooked. If the liquid starts to evaporate add wine or chicken broth or water.
  3. Air Fried:  preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Add the mushrooms to a heat-proof dish butter flavored oil sprayed dish ( or use butter), spray mushrooms with cooking spray also, add wine, and the seasoning you're going to use. Air Fry for 11 minutes. Add cheese and air fry one more minute until cheese is melted.

Stuffed Mushrooms Easy Recipes

These are the most delicious stuffed mushrooms ever! Loaded with so much flavor and all the stuffed golden deliciousness topped with melty cheese.

Shrimp Stuffed Mushroom Marsala

These are stuffed mushrooms with shrimp , cream cheese and baked with marsala wine. These mushrooms are fabulous in flavor and a perfect appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of whole extra-large mushroom around 12 (double recipe if making more)
  • Mushroom Note: (remove the stem, wash and scrape the inside of the brown veins out with a spoon.)
  • Make sure you get all the dirt off.
  • Approximately 12 cooked cleaned and tails off shrimp medium-sized chopped (or use crab, lobster, or another seafood you prefer chopped and cooked chicken or beef can be substituted for fish allergies, etc.)
  • 3 tablespoon softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Mix together and set aside :
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup Marsala wine
  • Garnish Topping:
  • 1/2 cup of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • shredded mozzarella cheese. or Italian blended cheese
  • extra virgin olive oil for drizzling over the top  of each mushroom or use all melted butter if desired
  • Optional Additions: chopped spinach, finely minced onion, goat cheese, chopped fig, walnuts (around 1 teaspoon for a different flavoring each)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms, (if you can wash all the dirt off soak them in boiling water then rinse and pat dry with paper towels. Scrape the inside of the mushrooms to get all the veins out with a melon ball scoop or small spoon.
  2. These can be made in a mini muffin tin oil sprayed or on a deep oil sprayed baking sheet.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  4. In a small bowl mix the cream cheese, garlic, granulated garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a pinch of cayenne powder which is optional.
  5. Mix the butter, and Marsala wine together.
  6. Stuffed each mushroom with the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Put a little of the wine and butter in the mini muffin cup or you will pour this on the bottom of the baking dish if you are using that.
  8. Top with breadcrumbs and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Drizzle with olive oil or butter and bake at 400 degrees for around 20 to 25 minutes or until the cheese is browned.
  10. Note: if the cheese isn't browned enough after 20 minutes just broil the top for 2 minutes.
