Best Boston Butt Roast Ever in a Crockpot!



The smell alone of this roast cooking is wonderful, the taste is moist and amazing. You can eat it this straight from the crockpot and any leftover are perfect for a wonderful sandwich with your favorite sauces~

1 Boston Butt up to 4lbs
Seasoning Rub:
1 tsp salt
2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 clove garlic
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp tarragon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground thyme
1/2 tsp marjoram
1/2 tsp rosemary
1/2 tsp whole basil
1/2 cup applesauce regular or cinnamon flavored
1/4 cup water or Apple Brandy
Optional : crockpot cooking bags (tip: you can use oven roasting bags but must put water on the bottom of the crockpot first so they don't burst.)

 A can cooking spray.

Spray Boston Butt with cooking spray in a 5 quart crockpot. Add all herbs and spices to the top, fat side up. Add applesauce to the bottom with water. The taste is great and falls of the bone. Serve with mashed potatoes, gravy and wonderful hot crusty Italian Bread! Any leftovers? Try some of Curt's sauces on this great pork on a sandwich.

Those fabulous spices would create an inviting aroma. Having that sweetly fall off the bone is my favorite. The fact that you can let it cook while you do something else is perfect.

Oh my gosh Claudia this sounds so delicious. The applesauce on the bottom is ingenious! I made one in the oven for Sunday dinner. Too bad for me you didn't post this Saturday, I used apple juice!

Looks like a crockpot winner! I'm printing this off to try next week. I especially love that it's more than just a can of soup thrown in with it.
