Honey Sesame Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry

If you're looking for a quick weeknight meal then you must try our delicious Honey Sesame Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry.

A whole new meal is created just by adding some of your favorite vegetables, it can be just about anything you happen to have on hand.

Whether it's a mixed julienned vegetable store-bought or chopped bok choy, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, or maybe some snow peas you'll have an all-in-one pan meal in no time.

The whole meal takes around 20 minutes and less time if you buy a bag of mixed stir fry veggies what can be easier than that?

Ok, so I got a little excited to write up this Asian style stir fry, but the honey compliments this chicken, and even leftovers (if there are any) are great the next day reheated.

Lunch or Dinner



This is seriously perfect for an afternoon luncheon and it sure beats that mall food while shopping with all fresh ingredients.


We especially love this when the warmer weather starts to hit, all the fresh farmer's market veggies go into our pan but you can choose to add whatever your family likes.


This stir fry is great over rice, noodles, and just about anything else you can whip up fast.


With the addition of some other pantry ingredients, this stir fry is super easy and you can use any boneless meats you like even leftover pork chops work great.

Ingredients You Will Need

  • chicken breast boneless
  • cornstarch, granulated garlic powder, salt, pepper, and ginger
  • soy sauce
  • chicken stock or water
  • honey
  • sesame oil and olive oil
  • peppers
  • minced garlic
  • salt, pepper
  • black and plain sesame seeds
  • a cleaned fresh head of broccoli just the florets
  • Optional: chopped tomato, artichokes hearts, hot peppers, onions, chopped celery, julienned carrots, any cubed boneless meats, seafood, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges

Tips:


  • Stir fry the vegetables in a separate pan from the meat or seafood
  • Add more water if the cabbage isn't cooked or other liquids like broth
  • Use fresh ginger when available for extra flavor
  • For quicker meals buy bagged coleslaw shredded cabbage or julienne stir fry package
  • Use cooked rice to package instructions, noodles, or whatever you like to serve this on
  • Any boneless meats worked great with this skillet or seafood

Other Additions and Suggestions


  • mushrooms sliced, carrots, peas
  • sprouts
  • water chestnuts
  • onions
  • a whole head of broccoli or cauliflower florets cleaned and washed
  • diced zucchini or eggplant
  • grape tomatoes
  • peanuts, cashews, or sunflower seeds
  • artichoke hearts
  • turn into surf and turf using shellfish of any kind
  • Use hot peppers instead of bell peppers for a little kick
  • bok choy or celery chopped
  • Use any cubed meats or poultry leftover
  • For Vegetarian omit the meats
  • Serve over rice, ramen noodles, angel hair, on top of baked potatoes, in flour tortilla wraps, in pita bread, or fried rice

Stir fry is a basic recipe for anything you can add to the pan even sliced brussels sprouts work!


Easy to prepare all you have to do is add whatever you like this sauce is great on everything.

Honey Sesame Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry

This Honey Sesame Chicken Stir Fry is the perfect way to welcome the first sign of warm weather. Tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and savory honey sesame sauce. It's perfect on a bed of rice, rice noodles, or even quinoa

Ingredients

  • Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock or water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Stir Fry Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups broccoli, chopped bite size
  • 2 large chicken breasts, cut into 1” pieces
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • salt & pepper
  • sesame seeds combination of black and plain
  • Optional Vegetables: sugar peas, carrot sliced, peppers, cabbage shredded, baby bok choy, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and mix together evenly I sprinkle the sesame seeds in this mixture also just a few of each color.
  2. Wash and chop vegetables into pieces.
  3. Cut and cube the chicken into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder.
  5. Heat a deep fry pan or wok, over medium heat adding the oil.
  6. Saute the chicken until juices run clear around 4 minutes on each side making sure no pink remains.
  7. Pour the sauce over this in the pan until it thickens then add the broccoli and any other vegetables and saute to your preference (we are around 5 minutes and on the softer side).
  8. Stir everything together. evenly.
  9. Cook the serving suggestions IE rice as per instructions on the package.
  10. Serve on a bed of rice, rice noodles, or even quinoa
