Peanut Butter Pattie (Copycat Girl Scout Cookies)

Friday, March 5, 2010
One of the most popular Girl Scout Cookies is these copycat Peanut Butter Patties, a delicious cookie stuffed with peanut butter, and dipped in chocolate.

Back in the early '70s, this is and still is my favorite cookie and I never can wait once a year when they're sold so until then I make my own copycat version!

The cookies are delicious and very similar.

Other companies have tried to duplicate these knockoffs, but nothing beats a homemade version and we love this one.

Below is a printable recipe card if you would like to skip all the little tips just hit print and the ads will disappear.

Delicious Popular Peanut Butter Pattie Girl Scout Cookies

I absolutely love these cookies, bring back memories of childhood in grade school and  I hate to admit, I would eat a whole box in one sitting they were so delicious.

The taste was different to me over the years and as much as I still love these cookies, the past is etched in my mind of these little peanut butter patties taste better to me back then.

Kids would sell them at schools, convention centers, grocery store parking lots, door to door, the boxes, marketing, prices, cookies, everything has changed since 1970 something, and now most orders are taken online! Not to mention how the cost has gone up to extremely high pricing so that's another good reason to bake these at home.

  2. @nicole thanks these are my sons favorite, after trying several chocolates to get it right, and leaving the filling plain instead of adding sugar, it was what we were looking for in this cookie, sometimes adapting too much makes it right turns out completely wrong :) a simple easy cookie. Less is more sometimes. Hope you like these.

  3. PB pattie cookies what a brilliant idea and I don't have problem if they melt soon without wax....because I bet they vanish quick :)

    Cheers,

  4. @gera thank you Gera! the wax is to thin down the chocolate and leave the shine. Thats what makes them look like store bought :) but you can omit, its harder to dip however.

  23. Can I use semi-sweet chips or double chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate??

  24. Thank you to everyone for these awesome comments on this cookie, hope you all get the chance to try this recipe it really is terrific.
Also to Anonymous...I tried using dark semi sweet and it isnt the same flavor I was trying to duplicate, but by all means, if you like dark then use dark. I use the dark chocolate on the thin mints.
